Position overview:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the internal daily operation of the company including, but not limited to, general sales order processing, finance, stocking policy, IT, HR policy, all of these with the support of local staff and headquarter staff in Hong Kong. It should then develop as a Deputy Manager for the Korean company covering all aspects of the company operation, together with the Country Manager. The role requires a proactive and engaging approach, organizing skills to assist and guide in planning and support of company requirements. It also needs a good sense of customer focus organisation to help the sales team using the tools developed by the group to improve sales effectiveness. The Operation Manager directly reports to the Country Manager and will be in direct contact with the relevant departments in Hong Kong and the UK.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Guiding and supporting role for the admin people to improve internal business practice and adhere to company rules. The current team reporting to the Operation Manager will be:
- The sales administrator, taking care of sales order processing and stock purchase - The accountant - The marketing/admin administrator - The stockman
• Set team and individuals targets as set by the Management within agreed timescales
• Ensure the group guidance and regulations are properly applied and understood as well as improving the communications between general administration and the sales team, notably in term of sales forecast, stock policy and availability.
• Together with the sales team and the HK marketing team, implement marketing actions and campaigns in order to support sales and generate new enquiries
• Establish and maintain relationships with both internal and external colleagues as required to facilitate team objectives
• Share best practice across the team in order to maximize results across the line
Candidate ideal background
1. Have at least 10 years¡¯ experience, mid-30s to mid-40s, modern thinking, and not military Korean type management attributes!
2. Have a significant experience either during previous employment or during studies to Western characteristics in order to bring and explain these values to the Korean staff.
3. Be hand¡¯s on and decision maker, able to cope with various situations, even some not foreseen. We don¡¯t look for a manager seating behind a desk and just giving orders. We are a small structure where managers need to roll up their sleeves
4. Have strong inter-relationship attributes to enhance work atmosphere and create a team building spirit.
5. Have a wide view of companies¡¯ operation (interaction between different aspects of the company)
6. Has worked in middle size structures
7. Has customers¡¯ needs in mind so that the general administration is customer focus and not a drag on the sales team
